This study aims to describe the implementation of assessment in Fiqh learning, analyze the needs for strengthening student character, and formulate an authentic assessment model for strengthening student character in Fiqh learning at MI Nurul Islam Tunjung Lumajang. The research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive design. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and document study, then analyzed using the interactive Miles and Huberman analysis model. Data validity was ensured through source triangulation, technique triangulation, and member check. The results show that existing assessment practices are still dominated by written tests, thus not optimal in assessing affective and psychomotor domains. The formulated authentic assessment model contains components of objectives, principles, and instruments consisting of performance assessment, projects, portfolios, observation, self-assessment, and peer assessment, implemented through four stages: planning, implementation, processing, and follow-up. This model is proven relevant to strengthen students' religious, disciplined, responsible, and honest character in Fiqh learning at Islamic elementary schools.
