EVALUASI PERAN GURU PAI DALAM MENANAMKAN KARAKTER ISLAMI SISWA ERA DIGITAL PADA SDN LENGKONG 4 JEMBER

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the role of Islamic Religious Education teachers in instilling Islamic character among students in the digital era at SDN Lengkong 4 Jember. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. Data were analyzed interactively through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing to obtain a comprehensive understanding of teachers’ strategies, challenges, and effectiveness in character formation. The findings reveal that Islamic Religious Education teachers play strategic roles as moral role models, spiritual mentors, facilitators of religious habituation, digital learning facilitators, and value filters amid rapid digitalization. The cultivation of Islamic character is carried out through exemplary conduct, habituation of worship, integration of Islamic values into learning, and guidance in digital ethics. The main challenges include limited digital literacy among teachers, exposure to unfiltered digital content, and inadequate collaboration between school and family. This study highlights the importance of strengthening teachers’ competencies and educational collaboration to foster students who are adaptive, religious, and morally responsible in the digital era.
