Abstrak

This classroom action research aims to improve the mastery of science knowledge competency of class IV students at MI Miftahul Ulum Banyuputih Kidul through the application of a picture and picture learning model based on a scientific approach. This research was conducted in two cycles, each consisting of four meetings. Initial observation results show that only 24% of students achieved the Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM), with an average score of 69.17. In cycle I, after implementing this learning model, the average student score increased to 77, with 51% of students reaching the KKM. The results of cycle II showed significant improvement, with the average student score reaching 94, and 89% of students successfully achieving the KKM. This increase was caused by the application of the picture and picture model which made students more enthusiastic in learning, as well as a scientific approach which made learning more interesting and meaningful. This research succeeded in showing that the use of a picture and picture model based on a scientific approach is effective in increasing students' mastery of science knowledge competencies. Thus, this research can be stopped because it has met the specified success indicators.
