Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the effectiveness of interactive learning media in improving the understanding of mean, median, and mode concepts among female students of the Primary Madrasah Teacher Education Program (PGMI) at IAIM Lumajang. The research employed a quantitative approach using a pre-experimental method with a One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The participants consisted of 30 students enrolled in the Educational Statistics course. Data were collected through concept understanding tests administered before (pretest) and after (posttest) the implementation of interactive learning media. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and N-Gain analysis to determine the level of improvement in students’ understanding. The findings revealed that the average pretest score of 61.33 increased to 87.17 in the posttest. Learning mastery also improved significantly from 30% to 100%. The N-Gain score was 0.67, which falls into the moderate category. Furthermore, all indicators of conceptual understanding showed improvement, including the ability to explain concepts, perform calculations, interpret results, and solve problems related to mean, median, and mode. The results indicate that interactive learning media are effective in enhancing students’ understanding of basic statistical concepts. Therefore, interactive learning media can be recommended as an innovative instructional alternative to improve the quality of Educational Statistics learning in higher education.
