Background: Meeting nutritional needs for school aged children is crucial for supporting physical growth and cognitive development during the learning process. Problem: Government policies like the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program need to be examined not only from modern health sciences but also regarding how these practices align with Islamic principles. Objective & Urgency: This study aims to analyze the implementation of the MBG program at SDI Ar-Ridha, Medan Marelan, through the lens of Prophet Muhammad’s hadiths on healthy dietary patterns. This research is urgent because integrating
Islamic values with nutritional fulfillment demonstrates that healthy eating is both a biological need and a religious duty. Methods: This qualitative field research employed a case study approach. Data were gathered through observations, documentation, and semi-structured interviews with 13 informants, including the school principal, teachers, and students. Findings & Discussion: The findings reveal that the MBG program at SDI Ar-Ridha is well structured, adjusted to school shifts, and serves balanced menus containing carbohydrates, animal and plant proteins, vitamins, and minerals. In the discussion, these menus featuring chicken, fish, and cucumbers show direct alignment with authentic hadiths regarding the Prophet's preferred foods and the concept of thayyib (wholesome) consumption. Conclusion: This study concludes that the
implementation of the MBG program at SDI Ar-Ridha successfully reflects the Islamic perspective on balanced and beneficial dietary patterns to maintain physical health and support student learning effectively.
